Current status

Hi all

For those who are asking how my removal looks like now, here's the picture (as of 9 July 2015):
To refresh your memory, old photo prior to any removal session:

And for my neck:
And again, to refresh your memory, old photo prior to any removal sessions:
This is after 7 removal sessions and I did not continue due to cost. There was a change in doctor and when the new doctor requote me, she quoted me same price even though I didn't want to continue with the removal of tattoo on my arm. Also, the new doctor is not as good as the previous one, which can be seen from the previous few posts. The first 6 sessions done was good and the healing process is without any bleeding or blisters. But the last session which the new doctor performed for me was quite bad and ended up with quite a bit of blisters.

Therefore, for those who would like to do removal, do note that the image I've posted throughout the removal process does not necessary show the definite outcome of your tattoo removal as it is really dependent on the type of technique used and the skill of the doctor.

Thanks! (:

  5. 9 Tips for Laser Tattoo Removal in Abu Dhabi
    1. Not all tattoos will disappear
It’s important to set your expectations by speaking with a laser treatment expert. Some tattoos fade only partially after these treatments.

    2. Older is better
How long ago did you get your tattoo? The answer makes a difference. Older tattoos fade generally more easily with laser treatments than newer ones.

If laser removal uncovers skin changes, you may be left with what looks like a “ghost” of your old tattoo.

    3. Body placement matters
Where did you get your tattoo? Fading is generally slower for tattoos located further down the arm or leg.

    4. Who did it?
Did you get an amateur tattoo? Those are usually easier to remove than professional tattoos.

    5. Different colors, different lasers
No single laser can remove all tattoo colors. Different dyes respond to different light wavelengths. Black and dark green are the easiest colors to remove; yellow, purple, turquoise and fluorescent dyes are hardest to fade.

    6. Your skin may change
Tattooing itself may scar or change skin texture, an effect often hidden by the dyes. If laser removal uncovers skin changes, you may be left with what looks like a “ghost” of your old tattoo.

23 Foods That Are Good For Your Skin

    7. Sunscreen can help
Laser treatments may darken or lighten skin pigment over and around the tattoo. Apply sunscreen before and after laser tattoo removal to minimize changes in your skin pigment. For the same reason, wait for your tan to fade before having a tattoo removed.

    8. The darkening effect
Certain cosmetic tattoos, such as pink, white and flesh-colored lip liners, may darken immediately with laser therapy. This effect can usually be corrected with further treatment. If immediate skin darkening is a concern, the laser should be tested on a small spot first.

    9. Are you allergic?
If you experienced an allergic reaction when getting your tattoo — intense itching and swelling — tell your doctor. Using a “Q-switched” laser to remove the tattoo may trigger a more serious allergic reaction.

    1. Hey there! Thank you! I've not been active posting on this blog as I no longer go for laser removal session.

I shared with the purpose of letting others know the process of removal in my country as it was such a painful process for me to search for real testimonials before making decisions. Cheers!

  12. Did you ever get more done to your neck? How does it look now, either way? What sort of laser were you treated with?

I've been getting one removed from my arm for the past 10 months. I've had 4 q-switched and 2 picosure sessions. So far the picosure seems a lot better all round. It's a very slow process though

    1. Hey! Session 7 was my last session and I did not continue as I've met my objective of ensuring the tattoo is no longer obvious. Now it looks like just a red patch on my neck and it can easily pull off as birth mark!

I read your post and realized you've done 6 sessions. Saw your last picture but seems like the colour still stays. Did you request for higher frequency, maybe for a faster result?

Mine took about a month to heal after every session and will book the next session.

  14. It has faded a little since then but it's been slow. My last session was quite high intensity but didn't fade as much as I had expected. It is getting there but it's slow.... I think I'm more at the point where I should be spacing out my sessions more. My next one is in two weeks but I think I'm going to leave the next one longer.

The colour has stayed somewhat but it was totally black ink, it's a much lighter tone than it was but it's really taking more time than I had expected.
